Peer Supporters

Peer support uses the knowledge, skills and experience of children and young people in a planned and structured way to understand, support, inform and help develop the skills, understanding, confidence and self awareness of other children with whom they have something in common. Peer support methods include both pro-active and reactive strategies.

At Brockmoor, the peer supporters have a variety of roles within school including assisting the sports coaches, safety patrollers, assisting the anti-bullying ambassadors and play buddies.  The members of the peer supporter team are always approachable, understanding, show empathy, listen and help their peers to find a positive response and conclusion to an event or incident.
